Roger has been a busy man over the past couple of weeks, attending a grant writing day at the Casterton Football Club rooms, formulating grant applications and visiting potential gardens for MAGIC in October.

Last tuesday Roger attended a grant application writing day, hosted by the Geleng Shire, at the Casterton football Clubrooms. He reports that it was a very very interesting day that was attended by 4 of the actual assessors of the grant applications for this year. He was advised to apply for the MAGIC grant under the Tourism/Arts/Culture banner. He received great help from one of the assessors who informed all participants that this year sees new grants, new rules and new assessors. Roger has put his work pants on and is busy writing a fabulous grant application, as they are due 24th February. Good luck Roger!

It was also reported that for MAGIC 2018, should we decide to go ahead, we, as a club, would need to consider looking at potential sponsorship as there may not be a grant available. It was suggested during the meeting that if we were to apply for another grant to keep MAGIC running, we should show them that we have made more of a monetary contribution as a sign of commitment to the local project. Further discussion on this will take place in the future.

MAGIC update

Clear your calendar for Sunday 16th October 2016, for this date is destined to be the best MAGIC ever! Roger and Heather visited a number of garden in the region and have confirmed 3 gardens. One potential garden was withdrawn and Roger has his eye on another, so watch this space. There was a number of issues to be addressed with some of the gardens, but we are confident that they will be worked through with ease.

Roger has requested a MAGIC subcommittee meeting on Thursday 25th Feb, Glenelg Inn @ 5:30pm. All co-ordinators are requested to attend please.
